About the Austin
Sunshine Run
The 2026 Austin Sunshine Run will feature a variety of competitive and noncompetitive races including a 10K race, a 5K run/walk, virtual 10K Race, virtual 5K Run/Walk, Fastest Dog in Austin 5K, and a Kid’s K. While it’s certainly not mandatory, we encourage all of our registered runners to get involved in our fundraising campaign, with all proceeds benefitting Austin Sunshine Camps.
Runners will be eligible for race swag when they reach pre-set fundraising milestones! Leashed pooches are welcome and have the opportunity to compete for Fastest Dog in Austin. Runners with the fastest pups will qualify for awesome prizes.
We highly encourage kids to get involved. We’ll have a Kids K fun run (for all kids 10 & under) and a Kids Zone with bounce houses, carnival games, and more!
Come and join in the festivities with thousands of other Austin-area runners, friends, and families for a fun-filled morning full of competition, food, and music – all in support of a great cause.

The 2026 Austin Sunshine Run will take place on Sunday May 3rd, 2026 with the virtual runs continuing through May 17th, 2026.

Our Beneficiary
All of the proceeds and funds raised from the Sunshine Run benefit kids in Central Texas through life-changing experiences at the Austin Sunshine Camps (ASC) without the barrier of cost to them or their families.

In 2026, we’re projecting more than 3,000+ runners in person at Vic Mathias Shores and 750+ runners for our virtual races.

Getting There
The 2026 Austin Sunshine Run starts at Vic Mathias Shores and continues through downtown Austin. See course map for details. For those running the Virtual Runs, we encourage you to run your favorite course and make sure you comply with all local track laws and ordinances.

Access to our participants and their supporters from 7:30am - 12:00pm. We’d recommend bringing a tent (10’ square maximum), tent weights for securement (CoA has a no-stake tent policy), a table and a couple of chairs. If you need to rent tables and chairs, you can select your rentals needs on the form and we will add those fees to your Participation Fee.
